Had the Bloodwork, Peed on the stick….
by The Gadgetlady on Aug.09, 2010, under Doctor's Appointments, Yep, I'm Pregnant
Yep… I’m preggers!!
It all started with the queasiness, the dizziness, the feeling in the back of your mind that you have missed a period and you just KNOW.
Well, I bought a pee test and VOILA!! Positive. I was a little afraid to tell hubby at first but he was fine.
I’ve had my first round of bloodwork and my first ultrasound is on August 6th (to tell us how far along I am).

I LOVE MY JOB . . .
by The Gadgetlady on Mar.23, 2010, under it-pays-the-bills, work
I love my job
I love my job
I love my job
[repeat until convinced]
I do like my job. I have to admit that it’s pretty laid back. The people I report to are very reasonable and very down to earth.
I do not like being a back-up, however. It’s part of my job that I am a back up for another person. I don’t mind it much, except you don’t expect that person to miss 1 day a week!!
I have things to do, too. I dont sit around waiting to cover for you.
What really gets me upset is when people come to me (filling in the other position) and ask where things are and what the status is. Let me tell you … I DO NOT KNOW!!
I do not sit at that person’s desk everyday. I do not know where they keep their shit.
I do know that when I trained that person, they were well aware of where things should be kept – Get this… IN CASE THEY ARE NOT IN!!!!
Now, they call in sick, and guess what. People are coming to me asking where her shit is. IDFK!!!
I check the bin for pick-ups. I check the sheet for out-going work. These places are the places where I should find the items I need. Wrong.
Not there.
When someone trains you and tells you why we do things the way we do, please understand that it’s not because we want to make your life harder (we know you are perfect) it’s to help the people out that fill in for you, so you can take a day off when you need to.
Consideration is key.
Read It Later
by The Gadgetlady on Feb.22, 2010, under techy
I’ve been playing around with a lot of apps for my itouch and one that I absolutely love is “Read It Later”.
Works Anywhere
Use Firefox at home, Internet Explorer at work, and a phone in between.
It’s an iTouch (iPhone) app. It’s a firefox plugin. It’s a link on Twittelater Pro, so you can read twitterer’s shared links later (haha, “read it later”, eh?). You can set up any other inferior browser (IE, safari, chrome, opera, etc…) to work the same way, but Firefox’s plugin blows them all out of the water. Chrome now has an extension for RIL that work in the same way as Firefox. Check them out.
Visit Read It Later to set up a free account.
If you don’t have an iTouch, Blackberry, or Android (which all have their own apps for RIL), you can fully enjoy Read It Later through any browser. They also have bookmarklets you can add to your browser to make it super easy to utilize RIL. bookmarklets
Read the tips and tricks, follow the instructions, and you’ll be saving links to read later…well, all the time!!
I find Read-it-later to be more user friendly (and better looking) than instapaper. I’m not really a fan of that service.
Hello world!
